Responsible Gaming

Every climb is more rewarding when you know when to turn back

Important Notice

Mighty Mountain rewards the push toward the summit, and that same drive to climb higher is how gambling can slip out of your control. If reaching for the peak has started to strain your finances, your rest, or your relationships, ask for help today. Free, confidential support is there at any point on the trail.

Signs of Problem Gambling

  • Spending more money than you can afford to lose
  • Neglecting work, family, or other responsibilities
  • Chasing losses by gambling more
  • Borrowing money or selling possessions to gamble
  • Lying about gambling habits
  • Feeling anxious or depressed about gambling
  • Being unable to stop or reduce gambling

Tips for Safe Gambling

Set a Budget

Decide how much you can afford to leave on the mountain before you set out.

Set Time Limits

Fix a turnaround time in advance so the climb doesn't swallow your day.

Never Chase Losses

Ground lost on the slope won't be regained by pressing on. Accept it and descend.

Take Breaks

Rest at base camp between rounds to keep your footing and your head clear.

Self-Assessment: Is Gambling Affecting You?

Answer each honestly before you go on. The six below are drawn from the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI); two or more “yes” responses are a cue to reach one of the organisations above.

1

Have you bet more than you could afford to lose in the past 12 months?

2

Have you needed to gamble with larger amounts of money to get the same feeling of excitement?

3

Have you gone back another day to try to win back money you lost?

4

Have you borrowed money or sold anything to get money to gamble?

5

Have you felt that you might have a problem with gambling?

6

Has gambling caused you any health problems, including stress or anxiety?
